Martyn’s Law Guide
Find your venue, understand what may apply, and create a practical guide and toolkit for your team.
Free · No account needed · Independent OnSiren guidance · Based on official sources

Eight practical worksheets, written for your type of venue. Print them, or share a fixed team guide with an optional password.
The toolkit supports preparation. It makes no legal determination and completing it is no guarantee of compliance or safety.

Worked examples, questions to resolve and optional prompts you can use with your team.
Start with the whole pub: the bar, dining areas, function rooms and any associated outdoor space. Then bring the people running those areas into the same conversation.
A restaurant’s seating plan is one part of the picture. Look at the people reasonably expected together, the spaces in use and how kitchen and front-of-house teams receive instructions.
A hall can have many users and one unanswered question: who tells each group what to do? Start by identifying the organisation controlling the relevant use and agreeing how each booking receives the current local information.
Bring services, community activities and external bookings into the preparation conversation. Check the relevant use first, then help the people supporting each activity understand their local roles.
An event needs its own set of facts. Agree the event area and the organisation controlling its use, then check how it relates to the host premises and the people expected together.
A useful briefing helps each person answer a few concrete questions: who leads, what is my role, how will I receive instructions and where can I resolve uncertainty?
Find your venue, confirm what you know and create a venue guide. Keep uncertain answers open.
