Cookie Policy

We use cookies to understand how people use www.onsiren.com: which pages get read, and where our sign-up flow trips people up, so we can improve it.

This is optional. Google Analytics loads only if you click Accept on the banner. Click Reject and the site works exactly the same, just without us counting your visit. We don’t use any of this for ads, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t track you around other websites.

Some forms also run a security check when you send them, to make sure a person is sending them and not a bot. The forms need these checks to work, so they run whatever you chose on the banner.

(This is about the website only. The OnSiren mobile app is separate and doesn’t use these cookies.)

A cookie that remembers your choice. It stores your Accept or Reject answer and when you made it, so we don’t keep asking. It lasts 12 months.

Google Analytics: only if you accept. These cookies let us count visits and see which pages are popular. They last up to 2 years. Until you accept, no analytics code runs and none of these cookies exist on your device.

Security checks: only when you send certain forms. When you ask for access on our law enforcement page, or on our page for BIDs and local authorities, or send a request through the Legal Hub’s Request Centre, or ask a question in the Legal Hub while AI answers are on, or send us an enquiry from our contact, media or Eagle Eye pages, we use Google reCAPTCHA. When you check your SIA licence on a “Join OnSiren” link from one of our team, we use Google reCAPTCHA and Cloudflare Turnstile. Each looks at how your browser behaves to tell a person from a bot, and Google or Cloudflare may store their own cookies or data on your device to do it. Neither loads when a page opens.

You’re in control. Use the button below to reopen the banner and switch your answer at any time.

If you change to Reject, we stop analytics and delete the Google Analytics cookies we can reach. You can also clear cookies for onsiren.com in your browser settings. Either way, we ask again after 12 months, or sooner if what we’re asking for really changes.

Google Analytics is run by Google. Some of the data is handled by Google in the United States, under an approved UK data-transfer arrangement, and we’ve turned off Google’s advertising features.

The security checks are run by Google (reCAPTCHA) and Cloudflare (Turnstile), which may handle the data outside the UK. For the full list of who handles OnSiren data and where, see our Privacy Policy.
