Terms of Service.
Last updated · 20 July 2026These terms are the agreement between you and Onsiren Limited for your use of the OnSiren app and network. They are written to be read. Please read them.
01The agreement
OnSiren is operated by Onsiren Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (“OnSiren”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms, to our Privacy Policy, and to the Code of Practice, which forms part of these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
02Who can use OnSiren
To use OnSiren you must:
- hold a valid licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA);
- be at least 18 years old;
- register in your own, real name; and
- keep one account, for yourself only.
Your access is linked to your licence. If your licence lapses, is suspended, or is revoked, your access to the network ends. Your account belongs to you, not your employer, and moves with your career.
03Your account and verification
To activate your account we verify your identity: your SIA licence is checked against the SIA’s public register, and you complete a face-liveness check (with your explicit consent, see the Privacy Policy). You agree to give accurate information during registration and to keep your account details up to date. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us immediately at support@onsiren.com if you believe it has been compromised.
04OnSiren is not an emergency service
In an emergency, call 999 first. Always.OnSiren alerts the licensed officers around you. It does not contact the police, ambulance, or fire service, and it is not a substitute for them, for your training, or for your employer’s procedures.
The network depends on connectivity, device battery, and officers being nearby and available, none of which is guaranteed. You must not rely on OnSiren as your only means of raising or receiving an emergency alert.
05Acceptable use
The Code of Practice sets the standard for conduct on the network. In short, you must not:
- send false, misleading, or malicious reports;
- name or accuse individuals: report what you saw, not who you think did it;
- use the network for abuse, harassment, foul language, or anything other than its safety purpose;
- share inappropriate, unlawful, or infringing content;
- misuse personal information you encounter on the network;
- interfere with the service: no probing, scraping, reverse engineering, automated access, or circumventing verification or moderation;
- share your account, or use the network while your licence is not valid.
06Content you share
You keep ownership of the content you send: alerts, voice transmissions, messages, photos. So the network can work, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, relay, transcribe, translate, moderate, and display that content to the officers it is meant for, and to keep the operational records described in the Privacy Policy. This licence exists to operate, secure, and improve the service. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.
You are responsible for what you send. Content is screened automatically and may be blocked or removed; we may act on anything that breaches these terms or the Code of Practice.
07AI features
Alpha One provides briefings, summaries, transcriptions, and translations generated by AI. AI output can be incomplete or wrong, and it is informational only. It is not professional, legal, or safety advice, and it is never a substitute for your own training and judgement or for official instructions. Verify anything critical before acting on it.
08Your privacy
How we handle your personal data, including your location, communications, licence details, and the biometric verification check, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
09Suspension and termination
You can leave at any time: delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) and your data goes with it, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We can suspend or remove your account if you breach these terms or the Code of Practice, including false reports, repeated irrelevant broadcasts, abusive behaviour, inappropriate content, or misuse of personal information; if your SIA licence is no longer valid; or if we must do so to protect the network or comply with the law. Where reasonable we will tell you why. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 06, 10, 11, and 13) do so.
10Intellectual property
The app, the network, Alpha One, and everything that makes them up (software, design, branding, and content we created) belong to Onsiren Limited or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose while you have an account. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the service except as the law allows.
11Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it running, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any alert will reach any particular officer at any particular time.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, for losses connected with your business or employment, or for events outside our reasonable control. Our total liability to you is limited to £100 or the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater.
12App store terms
You download OnSiren through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and their terms also apply to the download. These terms are between you and Onsiren Limited only, not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and are not responsible for it or its content; addressing any claims about the app is our responsibility. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a relevant government embargo and are not on any restricted-parties list.
13Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. We will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using OnSiren after a change, the updated terms apply; if you do not agree, stop using the service and delete your account.
14Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings there. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
